New York Conference United Church of ChristThe New York Conference United Church of Christ celebrates 287 active congregations within its midst. UCC NYS Youth CommitteeThe State Youth Committee of the New York Conference, United Church of Christ was formed in 1986 by a resolution presented by the Youth of New York Conference and voted on at the Annual Meeting. It is made up of two High School Youth and one adult advisor from each of the 9 Associations in the conference that wish to participate. Family Counseling MinistryThe Susquehanna Association, New York Conference, United Church of Christ established the Family Counseling Ministry in 1975 to provide skilled counseling and therapy to individuals, couples, families and groups. The ministry is ecumenical and has over 90 member churches and religious groups from 11 denominations, both Protestant and Roman Catholic. World Council of ChurchesThe World Council of Churches (WCC) is an international fellowship of Christian churches, built upon the foundation of encounter, dialogue and collaboration. The WCC was formed to serve and advance the ecumenical movement - the quest for restoring the unity of the church - by encouraging in its members a common commitment to follow the gospel. The prayer of the churches which belong to the WCC is for the renewal and faithful response of the people of God in witness and service to the world. The World Alliance of Reformed ChurchesThe World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC) links more than 75 million Christians in over 100 countries around the world. WARC is a fellowship of churches with roots in the 16th-century Reformation led by John Calvin, John Knox, Ulrich Zwingli and many others, and the earlier reforming movements of Jan Hus and Peter Valdes. National Council of ChurchesThe National Council of the Churches (NCC) of Christ in the USA is the nation's leading organization in the movement for Christian ecumenical cooperation. The NCC's 36 Protestant, Anglican and Orthodox member communions and denominations include more than 50 million persons in 140,000 local congregations in communities across the United States. Churches Uniting in ChristAfter forty years of study and prayer through the Consultation on Church Union (COCU), the nine church members agreed to stop "consulting" and start living their unity in Christ more fully. On January 20, 2002, these churches inaugurated a new relationship to be known as Churches Uniting in Christ (CUIC). The Wider ChurchChurch World ServicesFounded in 1946, Church World Service is the relief, development, and refugee assistance ministry of 36 Protestant, Orthodox, and Anglican denominations. Tools of Hope and Blanketsis a great way for your congregation or group to become a partner in the development work of Church World Service. Blankets, tents, bedding, and other emergency supplies in the wake of natural disasters and human calamities are very real tools of hope. Souper BowlThe "Souper Bowl" seeks to "love the Lord our God and love our neighbors" by encouraging people to give one dollar each as they leave worship on (or near) Super Bowl Sunday. Young people from congregations in all parts of the country stand at sanctuary exits and receive the dollar donations in large soup pots. Global MinistriesWho are we?
